Stewart important administrative announcement for next school year

Message from Doug Hostetter, Chief of Schools

Stewart families, 

I have an important administrative announcement for the 2026-27 school year.

Principal Crider has accepted the position of principal at Lincoln High School and will be leaving Stewart at the end of the school year. I am grateful for his care and dedication to the Stewart students, staff, and community.

I’m happy to share that Michael Elford, the current assistant principal at Mason Middle School, has been selected as the new principal, effective July 1, pending Board approval. He has worked at TPS since 2009, starting as a substitute, then as a teacher before becoming an administrator. 

I know Principal Crider will work with Mr. Elford to ensure a smooth transition for students, staff, and families. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Elford to the Stewart community.
